You’ll leave with great giveaways, food, and better information on meningitis—plus info handouts to share with your friends and family.
This event is hosted by The J.A.M.I.E. Group (Joint Advocacy for Meningococcal Information & Education), a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness and educating communities about meningitis.
In 2008, while attending college, co-founder Jamie Schanbaum became critically ill with meningococcal disease—a vaccine-preventable illness—and was given less than a 20% chance of survival. Seven months later, she left the hospital as a quadruple amputee.
Jamie didn’t just survive—she kept moving forward. In 2011, she joined the U.S. Paralympic Cycling Team, and today, she is back representing Team USA as a competitive para climber with her sights set on LA 2028.
She now shares her story to encourage others to learn about meningitis, understand prevention, and be proactive about protecting themselves and their communities.
Movement has been a powerful part of Jamie’s journey. This World Meningitis Day, she’s inviting you to move with her.
Come ride, move and groove with us at SoulCycle—and help us defeat meningitis.
